Nick Kyrgios shares an interesting post on his relationship with Tsitsipas, leaves the fans amused
Nick Kyrgios and Stefanos Tsitsipas
Greek and Australian tennis professionals Stefanos Tsitisipas and Nick Kyrgios are two of the most talented and interesting players on the tour. Tsitsipas is on the list of the next-gen players who may fill the shoes of the Big 3 of tennis and Kyrgions recently made his 2022 season memorable by reaching the final of the Wimbledon Championships.
But as far as their personal relationship is concerned, it is not as smooth as the tennis fans would have wanted. On the court, their relationship is the opposite of the ‘bromance’ kind shared by the Spanish great Rafael Nadal and now retired Swiss legend Roger Federer. Their encounter at the 2022 Wimbledon Championships was really intense, after which, Tsitsipas labeled Kyrgios a “bully.”
But on Saturday, Kyrgios shared a post on his relationship with Tsitsipas on his Instagram with the caption “How its going vs how it started” kept the fans on social media busy all day. The shared post contained a current pic of them from Saudi Arabia and the other one had the younger version of the duo.
The reactions of the fans to the latest post were interesting. “Plot twist,” one of the fans wrote. While others reacted “How long was the bathroom break today,” referring to the lengthy toilet breaks taken by Tsitsipas during matches. Earlier too, both the players also exchanged funny comments when they shared the news on social media about their pairing in the tournament
Nick Kyrgios one agains explains where his priorities are
On being questioned about his decision to skip Davis Cup, the 27-year-old has once again made clear where his priorities are. “I prefer money to people who don’t appreciate me” he said in Saudi Arabia. Kyrgios, who after the tournament in Saudi Arabia is likely to appear in the Australian Open explained, “For me it was the easiest decision in the world.”
Kyrgios reiterated what he said a few days back about how he felt unappreciated by the Australian public and how the criticisms have often hurt him “This year I have received a lot of praise and the recognition I deserve, but I don’t forget everything they wrote, said and told in the previous seven years,” Kyrgios added while talking about the Australian press.
In Saudi Arabia, Kyrgios paired with Stefanos Tsitsipas for the doubles despite their frosty relationship. Eventually, they were unsuccessful as they lost out at the Diriyah Tennis Cup on Friday night as they were defeated by the pairing of Hubert Hurkacz and Dominic Stricker 7-6(3) 7-6(3).
