“Dudes a scumbag” – Nick Sirianni bringing his kids to press conference after taunting Eagles fans doesn’t sit well with fans on social media
Nick Sirianni began to talk trash to fans that were booing the Philadelphia Eagles when the team was trailing early on in the game.

The Philadelphia Eagles improved to 3-2 after beating the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. The team needed this win to boost its morale and motivate its roster. In what was meant to be a positive night for the team, it ended on a sour note owing to head coach Nick Sirianni.
Eagles fans are arguably the most passionate bunch in the NFL. They love their team dearly, which is why the team began to boo Nick Sirianni toward the end of the second quarter when a field goal attempt by the home team was blocked by Myles Garrett and resulted in a touchdown in favor of the Browns.
In a short span, the Eagles’ 10-point lead was cut down to a tie matchup. This was when the fans at Lincoln Financial Field began to vent their frustration on Nick Sirianni.
Fortunately for the head coach, the Eagles were able to turn things around and walked away with the win. However, Nick Sirianni was not going to let the fans’ action slide.
Nick Sirianni’s actions caused further damage to his reputation
As he walked off the field, he began to cup his ears and show a deaf ear toward the crowd. He was challenging them and asking them why they were no longer booing. It did not stop there, as Nick Sirianni ended up exchanging a few words with the fans, leaving them surprised about his hostile attitude towards a crowd that was present to vouch for his team.
Nick Sirianni is likely to have known that his actions did not sit well with the crowd and to avoid confrontational questions in the postgame press conference, he brought his children up to the podium and made them sit there to gain empathy. He justified his conduct by stating:
Rather than accepting that his behavior was erratic, Nick Sirianni chose to justify his behavior by saying that his players asked him to show more energy and passion on the field.
Surely, they did not mean going around and taunting the local fanbase, especially when that fanbase respects loyalty and appreciates you only if they feel welcomed and valued. As a head coach, it was an odd decision to conduct himself like that. Fans online were baffled by his reaction and criticized him on X.

Totally agree! Using his kid as a shield during tough times is so unprofessional. It just feels wrong.

I’ve never met him. Never heard him speak.

But I can look at his picture and tell he’s an unlikeable person.
Nick Sirianni knew what he was getting himself into when he agreed to be the head coach of the Eagles. That is how the fans there are built, one needs to have thick skin to make it in that city. If a team is having a bad stretch, the fans will not hesitate to let them know by booing them, and when they are winning and playing well, these fans are ready to go to war right alongside the players.
The Philadelphia Eagles have struggled in the past few games. The issue has been a sheer lack of consistency. The team went from being a legitimate Super Bowl threat to one of the most unpredictable organizations in the NFL despite having immensely talented players on the roster.
Another thing to note is that the Eagles beat the 1-5 Cleveland Browns, does beating that team warrant a head coach to proudly stick out his chest and get into back-and-forths with fans? It is admirable that Nick Sirianni was attempting to show more passion on the field but how he executed it was wrong.
