Nick Sirianni is part of the cluster of head coaches who are always on the cusp of losing their jobs, but the organization keeps giving them second and even third chances. After last season’s monumental collapse in the latter half, Philadelphia Eagles’ fans have voiced their frustration against Sirianni at every step of the way.
It was a familiar scene at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday when the Eagles faced the Cleveland Browns. Following an actionless first quarter, Eagles Jake Elliott opened the scoring with a 49-yard field goal try. That wasn’t his only contribution in the night.
Elliott also scored 44 yards in between a 22-yard touchdown connection between Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown, which took 16 plays to complete. Naturally, fans don’t flock to football games to watch kickers score field goals and punts.
The slow usage of the clock and uninspiring playcalling from Sirianni got on the nerves of the Eagles’ fans. They began to boo their head coach, and some even chanted for the owners to fire him midway through the game as if they were 0-4 and not 2-2.
Sirianni chose to ignore them, but the Eagles came close to another disappointment when Browns kicker Dustin Hopkins scored from 49 yards early in the fourth to level the scores. A couple of minutes later, Hurst found DeVonta Smith for a 45-yard touchdown to increase their lead.
With just over three minutes left, the Browns managed to secure Hopkins a favorable field goal range, which he converted, increasing the heart rate of the Eagles fans.
The game eventually ended 16-20 for the home team. After the final whistler, cameras caught Sirianni taunting the Eagles fans who wanted him fired by pointing his ear as if to say, Where are the boos now?

Nick Sirianni unhappy with the fans for booing him during the Browns’ win
The game wasn’t pretty, but the Eagles got the job done and now are 3-2 after five games. Regardless, the fans made their feelings about Sirianni heard by booing him.
After the game, reporters wanted to hear the 43-year-old’s reaction to the post-match exchange with the fans.
Only a victory streak can get the fans to stand in his corner once again.
The season is still young, and their upcoming stretch games look quite favorable. They will face teams (Giants, Bengals, and Jaguars) who are under .300 in the NFL standings.
