Nick Wright had it coming. The devout Kansas City Chiefs follower caught a taste of his own medicine after Patrick Mahomes and Co. suffered a humiliating 40-22 defeat against the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl LIX.
Wright’s staunch support for the Chiefs got on the nerves of every other football fan who does not support the team from Kansas City. Even his colleagues Chris Broussard and Kevin Wildes had to endure the constant bravado on almost every episode of FOX’s First Things First.
What goes around comes around, and Wright kind of predicted that he might be pelted with all the pent-up banter after the Chiefs loss.
The last time we did a First Things First on FS1 after a Chiefs playoff loss, the show was in the mornings & we were doing it from our houses, in sweatpants. In other words, I have no idea what today is going to be like… other than it’ll be undoubtedly delightful for everyone but me.

Broussard and Wildes pulled out all the stops to rub the Chiefs’ Super Bowl loss on Wright’s face, including reminding him that Tom Brady is still the GOAT. The pair hired a Blues group for poetic justice.

Nick Wright accepted defeat very early on Sunday
Wright boldly challenged everyone who had a bone to pick with the referee for allegedly poor calls, providing the Chiefs a safe passage into the Super Bowl. A lot of them threatened to boycott football’s greatest spectacle, which turned out to be a complete lie on their part.

FOX network witnessed record viewership. Now the murmur surrounding the increase in viewership is that many fans tuned in after they heard Mahomes threw multiple interceptions, including a pick-six in the first half leading to the Chiefs trailing by more than 30 points.
Wright was silent until the Eagles crossed 40, and he wrote a tweet, which can only be viewed as a defeat.
Well, for the first time in 3 glorious years, there were some doubts. Credit to the Eagles, for one of the single most impressive start to finish Super Bowls of all time. KC, on the doorstep of history, played its worst game in 5 years. Devastating. See y’all on FS1.

The Chiefs’ bubble burst, and Wright was sent flying. The scenes on the streets of Philadelphia certainly mirrored the comment section of Wright’s tweets.
Fans who had endured his Chiefs-driven narratives finally had something to celebrate. But is it the end of Wright’s bragging rights? Certainly not because the Chiefs will remain relevant as long as Mahomes is on the team, and whether Travis Kelce sticks around or not, they will be in the thorn of every other AFC team’s sight.
