Chelsea continued their phenomenal run at the expense of West Ham. The London stadium stayed witness to the sensational rise of another young hero, Nicolas Jackson. The Hammers were no match for the Blues’ clinical brilliance. Riding high on a brace from Jackson, Chelsea pounded three past their opposition to climb into the fourth place of the points table.
Also with the brace, Nicolas Jackson leapfrogged French superstar, Olivier Giroud in terms of goals scored for Chelsea. In his three-year residence at the Stamford Bridge, Giroud netted home 17 goals. Jackson, on the other hand, who has been a part of Chelsea since last year, went on to hammer home 14 goals in the preceding campaign and already has four in the current season.
Jackson opened the scoring for Chelsea in the fourth minute from a Jadon Sancho assist, exploiting a napping West Ham defense. Chelsea could have doubled their lead in the 11th minute with Cole Palmer within inches of almost finding the back of the net only to witness the shot fly wide by inches. Seven minutes later, the Blues did get the goal eventually as a prowling Jackson managed to get the better of an advancing Alphonse Areola from a Moises Caicedo assist.
Within just two minutes of restarting after the half-time whistle, Chelsea clinched a third. This time through one of their most promising midfielders, Cole Palmer. Nicolas Jackson found himself assisting Palmer this time and the latter made no mistake in slotting the ball home.
The visitors had another gilt-edged opportunity when Noni Madueke found himself clear on a counter-attack only to squander away a sitter. Not even for a single moment did Chelsea allow to loosen their grip on the game and at the end of the 90 minutes, were the deserved winners of the match.
Jadon Sancho’s impressive performance for Chelsea has been the talk of the town
Jadon Sancho has been one of the talking points for Chelsea this season. In two games that he has played for the Blues, he had already knitted a couple of assists. In the last game against Bournemouth, Jadon Sancho knitted a brilliant ball for the winning goal scored by Christopher Nkunku. Following that, he also was the creator of the opening goal scored by Jackson against West Ham in London Stadium.

Such has been his impact ever since he arrived at Stamford Bridge, experts believe that this may force Chelsea boss, Enzo Maresca to think otherwise about their Ukrainian midfielder, Mykhaylo Mudryk. Sancho was on loan to his former club, Borussia Dortmund last season but despite being impressive, the German stalwarts showed no interest in keeping him. The opening performances will be raising hopes in the Chelsea fans but over time, it is going to be interesting to see how he delivers.
