Whenever the name LeBron James is mentioned, sports fans go into a tizzy as the Los Angeles Lakers superstar has been the face of basketball for two decades.
The 41-year-old may be nearing the end of his illustrious career, but he is still considered one of the best in the business. Careful PR work, along with his never-ending list of records, has made him one of the all-time greats.
Even if he were to announce his retirement from the NBA, it would create a flurry of ticket purchases to every Lakers game. Fans do not want to miss out on his final few games.
That was one of the reasons the final Lakers home game of the regular season saw a massive surge in ticket prices when James teased his retirement.
Since that turned out to be a VSOP commercial, every fan is now looking for signs to pounce on tickets before prices skyrocket.
Even Nike knows that, and is working hard to churn out custom sneakers almost every other game. The Akron native debuted the most PEs this past season.
Now, when the sneaker giant realizes they have another superstar trending on a similar career path, they need to do the same. In comes soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Al-Nassr forward is of the same age, and many are wondering when he will retire. Since he, too, is a premier Nike athlete, the company decided to bring him and LeBron James together for a cold tub session.
Fans go berserk after Nike brings LeBron James and Cristiano Ronaldo together
Sure, many believe that Lionel Messi is the better player and that LeBron James will never catch Michael Jordan in the GOAT race. But despite that, there was no doubt amongst sports fans that this cold tub get-together was the stuff of legends.
They applauded Nike for bringing the two together in such a casual environment. They took to social media to express their disbelief at seeing the two fist-bumping each other. Check out examples of those reactions below.

nike said bet and dropped the coldest ad
One dominated for 20 years like a machine. The other is still rewriting the game at 41. Different sports. Same obsession.

two 40+ year olds in ice baths is the most honest greatness ad nike's ever run. the talent was never the question with these two, it's that they treated recovery like a religion when everyone else partied. you don't get a 20-year peak by accident. the ice bath is the real ad, not…

This was not LeBron James’ first meeting with one of the all-time greats from another sport. But for Nike to arrange such a cold-tub moment is what led fans to lose their minds. It was PR work at its finest.
LeBron James sends custom sneakers to Nelly Korda
LeBron James, as Nike’s top basketball representative, comes with many benefits. The meetup with Cristiano Ronaldo is one of them. Then he also gets to be acquainted with Nike’s other top athletes.

Recently, his newfound passion for golf has seen him bond with women’s basketball superstar Caitlin Clark and world No. 1 golfer Nelly Korda.
Their most recent linkup was over the latter’s basketball shooting skills. Now, James wants to help the 27-year-old continue to rack up wins as she plays.
The four-time league MVP sent Korda a pair of custom Nike Victory Pro 4s inspired by the “Old Glory” Nike LeBron 23s. The last slide of Complex Sneakers’ post shows the Florida native letting James know that she would wear these for practice ahead of the US Women’s Open.
