“Why are you still playing?” Nikola Jokic playing with Michael Jordan-level ease is ‘unfair’, claims ex-All Star
Gilbert Arenas feels Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic is unstoppable just as Michael Jordan was in the 90's.
Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic and Michael Jordan
Only a handful of players in the history of the NBA have ever been as dominating as Michael Jordan was on the floor. He was so dominant that it looked ‘unfair’ on other players and teams. Now Gilbert Arenas feels Nikola Jokic has entered that elite category.
Nikola Jokic is already a three-time league MVP and if not for that stellar season by Joel Embiid, he should have won it four straight times. For the uninitiated, those awards alone should suggest he is the best basketball player in the world, something he continued to show at the Paris Olympics despite finishing with a bronze.
But those that follow and know the game, know he is borderline unstoppable, as there are not many who can stop him from scoring a triple-double every other night. Gilbert Arenas had something to say about this domination while speaking on Gil’s Arena.
The former All-Star has witnessed what the Denver Nuggets superstar has done so far this season. If he continues to play the way he has been so far, it will be difficult to stop him from winning another league MVP award.

What it does in retrospect is make other players look bad. If anything, it is eerily similar to how the NBA looked when Michael Jordan dominated in the nineties. The only shortcoming so far has been his sole NBA title.
Nikola Jokic spearheading Denver Nuggets title charge
Last season, the most telling visual of Nikola Jokic was anger. He stood on the sideline watching his team struggling to win against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference playoffs. If only the Denver Nuggets had managed to beat them, it would not be a surprise if they battled against the Boston Celtics.
But injuries to Jamal Murray and the shortcomings of the bench were too glaring. This season, they did not necessarily address all their bench problems. But bringing in Russell Westbrook seems to have helped them alleviate some of it.
To start with, the former triple-double king and fellow league MVP is a great motivator. His leadership has helped role players play better than they did in the past. So far, he has also helped to contribute with incredible performances whenever Murray sat out.
Where the Serbian has added to his game has been film study. On countless occasions, he was seen directing his teammates to counter opponents. It has caught other teams off guard and could be a sign of things to come. Nikola Jokic seems to be hungry for another NBA title and he will do whatever it takes to win.
