Hence, considering the DPOY will match up against the three-time MVP, fans were excited for Gobert and Nikola Jokic to go head-to-head in the series. But Jokic embarrassed the best defender in Game 5 on his MVP receiving night.

Rudy Gobert was helpless against the Joker, as the MVP made eight of his nine shots, with Gobert being the primary defender. Nikola Jokic played elite offense as he tricked Gobert multiple times and shot layups and three-pointers on the DPOY. Jokic also had control of the ball through transitions, as the star had zero turnovers in the game.

Jokic dropped his playoff season high of 40 points with an incredible 68.2 field goal percentage, the best of this series. The star was also 8-9 from the free-throw line and made two three-pointers in three attempts. Jokic ended up with 13 assists, seven rebounds, and two steals.

As Minnesota is known as one of the best defensive groups, the team needs to step up and perform better on the opposite side of the court to win the next game.
