After a much-needed off-season break, the Serbian superstar Nikola Jokic is hooping once again, not for his NBA side, the Denver Nuggets, but for his country. Jokic is currently participating in the EuroBasket 2025 competition for his nation, Serbia. After enjoying his time in China and in his nation along with his family during the off-season, Jokic is now in basketball mode.
The former MVP recently displayed to the fans what is about to come in the upcoming 2025-26 NBA season. In warm-ups before a Serbia-Germany match at EuroBasket on Sunday, Jokic executed a two-handed reverse slam dunk.

Although he has thrown down numerous kinds of dunks during his career, he rarely performs a reverse tomahawk dunk in games. This is despite the fact that the move garnered notice for displaying his athleticism.
There is no noteworthy record of Jokic executing a particular tomahawk dunk, and he is not recognized for his high-flying dunks. His playing style often prioritizes passing and court awareness over strong slams, and while there are video highlights of his dunks, none of them are characterized as tomahawk dunks.
Interestingly, fans got to see a different side of the Nuggets star during the warm-ups, a different energy coming from the Serbian in general. A reverse Tomahawk dunk is not something Jokic performs even during his warmups. This also showcases the star’s seriousness to play for his nation and deliver for them in the ongoing tournament.
All in all, with the Nuggets shuffling their roster ahead of the new season, Jokic will be the main man to lead them this year. In 70 games during 2024–25 season, Nikola Jokic produced 29.6 points, 12.7 rebounds, and 10.2 assists. He also got selected for his 7th All-Star game.
Fans left stunned after coming across Nikola Jokic performing a reverse Tomahawk dunk
Now, with Nikola Jokic’s renewed athleticism coming in front of the basketball community, fans cannot help but discuss what lengths Jokic will go in the coming season. His reverse Tomahawk dunk during the EuroBasket pre-warmups surely left everyone stunned. It should be regarded as typical for an elite athlete to accomplish such a feat at 6’11”.

However, viewers were taken aback by the cunning display of athleticism given Jokic’s image as a floor-bound center. Many of them took to various apps and social media platforms to send their reactions regarding Jokic’s dunk. One fan wrote on X, “He is playing with his buddies and for his country. The energy is different.” Check out some of the reactions below:

Aside from this, Jokic has immense love for his nation and his upbringing. He is a big admirer of horses, as his family raises them and participates in horse racing every year. So much so that Jokic once claimed that he would be ready to sacrifice his NBA career to raise and care for his horses instead. His participation in the Euro Basket competition is a clear indication of his admiration for his country.
Nikola Jokic turned heads with an insane no-look touch pass during EuroBasket friendlies
A reverse Tomahawk slam dunk is not the only athletic display Jokic put forward in front of his fans this past week. During his friendly matchup against Czechia during the EuroBasket 2025 competition, the Denver Nuggets star did something else as well.
Jokic out of nowhere executed a sensational no-look touch pass from the defensive end of the court to the attacking end. This play left fans in awe of his artistry. Watch the video below:

Most people seem to agree that Jokic’s energy level when playing for his nation differs greatly from that of his NBA career. This might even corroborate allegations that he has no interest in the league.
In any case, Nuggets supporters would find it encouraging to see Jokic move in this manner to accomplish another championship.
