‘No more tennis!’ Daniil Medvedev goes Kart Racing with F1 superstars, Alex Albon and Daniil Kvyat
Daniil Medvedev, Daniil Kvyat and Alex Albon
Daniil Medvedev got his heart broken a few days ago in Melbourne. He looked well on the course of winning his second grand slam and was two sets up in the final against Rafael Nadal. But a spirited comeback from the Spanish legend left Medvedev stunned. The Russian had no answers for him and despite coming very close, he lost the title and looked visibly upset after the match.
The World No.2 even said that he has lost motivation for time being and that the kid inside him has ‘stopped dreaming’. For regrouping himself, Medvedev even pulled out of the ATP 500 event in Rotterdam where he has supposed to be the top seed. And now, he has used this time to go, karting with his F1 friends- Alex Albon and Daniil Kvyat.
Medvedev has always been a huge F1 fan. He makes time to watch Grand Prix weekends and was even seen last year at the Monaco Grand Prix. Medvedev took to social media to shares pictures of his karting experience with Williams Driver, Albon, and fellow Russian, Kvyat.
“No more tennis! My training for @F1 has officially started!! @kvyatofficial @alex_albon,” Medvedev wrote. He also shared a couple of videos of himself going around the track.
In a meme template, a fan jokingly announced that Medvedev will be joining Red Bull Racing and the Russian was not going to let this thing slip away without a laugh. He also clarified that in all seriousness, driving a racing car isn’t a cakewalk.
He said: “They broke the news early! @redbullracing….Who goes @Max33Verstappen or @SChecoPerez?? (in all seriousness. Respect for all these guys. Was tough today)”
Medvedev to return on tour in Acapulco
Due to a hectic Australian Open, Medvedev decided to withdraw from the ATP 500 Rotterdam event scheduled from February 7. He is very close to the No.1 ranking and would want to topple Novak Djokovic before the clay-court season starts. He will next play the ATP 500 event in Acapulco and depending on the result, will have a chance to become World No.1. After Acapulco, he will play both the Indian Wells Masters and Miami Masters. He then will head to the clay season- his weakest surface on tour far.
