It was a smooth and calm Italian Grand Prix for Max Verstappen. Having qualified P2 on Saturday and missing out on pole position, it wouldn’t really have mattered much as he was due to take a 5 place grid penalty for changing his ICE.

This meant that the Dutch driver was going to start from P7. Although at this point of the season, everyone knows hoe strong Max is and that he can win from anywhere on the grid. This is something that has been proven by the 2021 world champion in multiple races.

In Hungary this year, Max Verstappen started P10 and finished first. In Belgium he started p14 and managed to win by a huge margin. Due to these chain of events, no one was surprised when Max finished ahead of pole sitter Charles Leclerc to win in Monza from P7. These have been some of the greatest performances that the driver has put forth in his career.

Although the win in Monza was a bit different due to the others which made the Tifosi a bit angry on the Dutch driver even though it wasn’t his fault.

In the ending stages of the Italian Grand Prix, a safety car came out due to Daniel Ricciardo who had to stop on the side of the track due to an engine issue. Race marshals tried to move his car away but weren’t able to do so because it was stuck in gear.

Later a crane came and took it away. Although this did not happen in a a short time which resulted in the race ending under the Safety Car terming Max Verstappen as the winner of the grand prix which did not sit well with the Tifosi.

Verstappen further talked about the race proceedings. “I had a great race. But that was planned. The whole weekend was to make sure the car look after the tyres & that worked. It’s always better that the race is restarted but RIC’s car was stuck in gear & they couldn’t roll it away,” he said.

“The podium looked good, it was nice to be there. But not many people were cheering for me! But it’s understandable they wanted another car to win,” he continued.

No matter what car, team, driver or grid position that you throw at Max Verstappen, he seems to overcome it all and goes on to win the race. This is his 11th race win of 2022 which puts him on par with Lewis Hamilton to have scored the most wins in a season. What’s next to come for Verstappen will be interesting to see. Will he break Sebastian Vettel’s 13 win record this season?
