Novak Djokovic‘s 2024 season has been a subject of discussion as the 36-year-old seems to be out of form. With no title to show for, the Serbian also exited from Rome Masters with a poor display that leaves him at risk of losing his No.1 position.

The Serbian has competed in just four tournaments this season. He has reached two semifinals and exited in the third round twice. He recently crashed out of the Rome Masters after losing to Chilean Alejandro Tabilo 6-2, 6-3 in just 68 minutes. And the last time Djokovic went without a title before the French Open was in 2006 when he won his first ATP title in July.

For the first time in 18 years, Djokovic is heading into Roland Garros without a trophy, potentially repeating an unfortunate feat. Last year, he won three of the four Grand Slam events and the ATP Finals, but now he seems far from his 2023 form.

He will have to do something of a miracle to win the French Open, which he won last year beating Holger Rune in three sets. However, he knows that he has to change everything ahead of the Roland Garros, as he believes only improving his game can earn him a chance of winning.

After his defeat on Sunday, Novak Djokovic admitted that there was no coordination in his game, as he was a completely different player than the one who trained. The Serbian won his second-round match against Corentin Moutet with ease and looked bright.

But, while signing the autographs of fans after the win, a bottle struck his head and was rushed for medicals. Despite training well the next day, he lost to Tabilo in straight sets.

Training was different. I was going for kind of easy training yesterday. I didn’t feel anything, but I also didn’t feel the same. Just no coordination. Completely different player from what it was two nights ago. Could be. I don’t know. I have to do medical checkups and see what’s going on.
