We have the best possible team. It's crucial for young players to feel what it's like to represent your country. I hope that we can help to inspire young generations. I can't wait to play in front of our amazing crowd!
Novak Djokovic said in the Davis Cup press conference

Djokovic won the Davis Cup with Serbia in 2010, a victory that contributed to his development as a tennis player. The Davis Cup win helped him announce himself as a dominant force in men’s tennis in 2011, starting the season with 41 straight victories. However, his Olympic triumph has made him more relaxed. After his Davis Cup duty, he will return to the Shanghai Masters for the first time since 2019. He is a four-time champion at the event.

Novak Djokovic makes confession on US Open disaster

Serbian tennis legend Novak Djokovic has admitted that he came to the US Open ‘undercooked’ after his heroic Olympic gold medal win in Paris. The Serbian lost in the third round to Australia’sa Alexei Popyrin in four sets.

In New York, I felt that it wasn’t me on the court, that I was not well prepared, so I felt more additional pressure ahead of every match compared to before the finals at the Olympics. Just because of the way I felt. Tennis is an individual sport – if you don’t have a solution on a given day, that’s it, you lose. Over the years, that kept me disciplined.
Novak Djokovic said on Serbia’s RTS

Although Djokovic won the elusive gold medal, he wasn’t able to replicate that success in this year’s Grand Slams. The Australian Open, Roland Garros, and US Open titles went to Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz, respectively.

Additionally, the former World No. 1 hasn’t found success at the Masters 1000 events either. His last Masters 1000 appearance was in Rome in May, where he lost to Alejandro Tabilo. He withdrew from the Canadian Masters and the Cincinnati Open, opting to take a break after his Paris Olympics victory.

Djokovic’s US Open campaign was mainly hindered by poor serving. In his post-tournament press conference, the Serbian noted that he needed to eliminate double faults from his game to be successful in major tournaments again.
