Novak Djokovic took a dig at Carlos Alcaraz in a recent interview while speaking about his confidence heading into the Summer Games. The 2024 Paris Olympics are underway after a very colorful opening ceremony.

The Serbian has not had an ideal year so far. He is still without a title so far. He did come close at Wimbledon when he made it to the final, where he lost to Alcaraz in straight sets.

Despite that, Djokovic is excited about taking part in the Olympics. Speaking about the importance of the draw, Djokovic acknowledged the difficulties he could face and revealed that he is working harder than ever to compete with a 20-year-old, indirectly referring to Carlos Alcaraz.

I may not have as much time as I did ten or fifteen years ago. I am focusing on the big events. That is why I am working to be able to compete with a 20-year-old at the highest level.

The two players are currently tied 3-3 in the head-to-head.

Djokovic will take on Matthew Ebden in the first round and if he manages to win, he might face Rafael Nadal in the second round. It could be his 60th game against the Soaniard and possibly their last meeting.

I am very excited about this duel in the second round and I will give my all. I am aware of the importance of the Olympics. But I am representing my country.
Novak Djokovic said at a press conference

However, Nadal has faced a small setback and it is not yet clear if he will take part in the singles or if he will withdraw to focus on the doubles.
