Novak Djokovic requests the media to not question his 8-year-old son Stefan’s tennis career

Novak Djokovic is back in form with some splendid performances in the recently concluded ATP tournaments and has already qualified for the ATP Finals happening later this month. Eyeing his fifth singles title this year, the Serb is off to a tremendous start in the Paris Masters 2022. However, what piqued viewers’ interest the most was the interview after the match wherein the 21-time Grand Slam champion spoke about his son Stefan, who was seen showing off his gameplay skills during Wimbledon 2022.
While speaking about his 8-year-old son and his future in tennis, Novak Djokovic requested journalists not to talk about his career just yet as he is merely 8 years old. He wants his child to thoroughly enjoy the game and become physically and mentally strong rather than being worried about his career.
The 21-time Grand Slam winner does not want to talk about ‘career’ with his son and wants the media to leave him alone.
Novak Djokovic won only one Grand Slam this year, that is, Wimbledon defeating Nick Kyrgios in the final. He subsequently won the Tel Aviv Open and the Astana Open tournaments which confirmed his berth in the ATP Finals tournament.
Novak Djokovic is looking to win the ATP Finals 2022

Novak Djokovic has had a horrific beginning to his ATP tour. He was not allowed to play at the Australian Open this year and had to watch his old rival Rafael Nadal bang the title. He was also banned from stepping foot on Australian soil for the next three years as he was deported due to his unvaccinated status against COVID-19.
The nine-time Australian Open champion then picked himself up and competed in the Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championship where he lost in the quarter-final to Jiri Vesely in straight sets. Another setback came when he was defeated by Andrey Rublev in the final of the Serbia Open. It must have been heart-breaking for Novak as he lost in front of his home crowd.
He then picked up steam and won the Italian Open defeating Aslan Karatsev, Stan Wawrinka, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Casper Ruud, and Stefanos Tsitsipas on the way. He went to French Open with renewed confidence but lost to none other than Rafael Nadal in the semi-final round match.
His victories at Wimbledon, Tel Aviv Open, and Astana Open gave him a new breath of life. With that being said, it seems like the Serb is eyeing the ATP Finals trophy and ultimately equaling Roger Federer’s record of winning the tournament a total of 6 times. However, the route is not as easy as it looks from the outside with participants going all out with their performances. He won the coveted tournament last in 2015.
