We’re definitely going to celebrate New Year’s Eve, we have plans. My family is here. My kids are excited to be up past bedtime. We’re going to see one of the many fireworks tonight in Brisbane.

Regardless of how he rings in 2025, Djokovic will hope for a better season than in 2024. Despite winning the Olympic Singles Gold Medal, the Serbian legend went without a Grand Slam title for the first time since 2017.

If Djokovic wins the final on Sunday in Brisbane, it will mark his 100th ATP tournament victory. The Serbian star is also preparing for the Australian Open, where he aims to win a record 25th Grand Slam title.

Nick Kyrgios returned to the court after 18 months away due to wrist and knee injuries. Despite losing to French player Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, he showed determination in his performance. The match lasted 2 hours and 27 minutes, with Mpetshi Perricard winning three tight tiebreak sets—7-6 (2), 6-7 (4), 7-6 (3).

The 21-year-old Frenchman, who climbed to No. 31 in the rankings this year, served 36 aces compared to Kyrgios’s 15. His powerful serves regularly exceeded 220 kph (135 mph). On Monday, Djokovic and Kyrgios teamed up for a doubles match and secured a first-round victory, showcasing their friendship and skill.
