History is made, records are broken and one man stands above the rest i.e. Novak Djokovic. The Serbian maestro has created some unbelievable records as he tries to put himself ahead of virtually every category in tennis. After winning the Geneva Open, Djokovic has added another milestone to his unmatchable legacy.
By winning the ATP 250 title in Switzerland, Djokovic has surpassed his great rival, Rafael Nadal, to go 20 consecutive seasons with at least one ATP Title. The streak stretches from 2006, when he won his first title at the Dutch Open. Nadal’s streak had started in 2003 and went until 2022.

Nobody has ever done this.
Djokovic’s win in Geneva has broken a huge dry spell of ATP titles, which bodes well going into Roland Garros. This was his first title win since the Olympic Gold medal win at the Paris Olympics last year.
Moreover, this is Djokovic’s first ATP title win since the 2023 ATP Finals, where he beat Jannik Sinner in the final. The poor run of results has resulted in him going down in the ATP Rankings in the past 12 months.
John McEnroe rates Novak Djokovic’s chances at Roland Garros
American tennis legend John McEnroe has assessed Novak Djokovic’s chances at this year’s Roland Garros. Despite the world calling the Serbian an underdog this year, McEnroe believes that an easy draw automatically makes him one of the favorites for the title. John McEnroe said in an interview to Tennis365:
You might look back and he loses and, ‘Ah see, of course, he’s 38. He’s too old. It caught up to him,’ or whatever. But you don’t count him out. And he’s got the best draw of anyone to get to there. And the way… you know, Zverev’s not playing with the same confidence that he played with until he reached the finals of Australia this year. He’s not… that really hurt him, I think, mentally, at least from what I’ve seen. And he doesn’t seem to be playing with the same confidence.

Djokovic has not had the best of seasons in 2025. Before the Geneva Open, he was 0-2 in terms of win/loss record on clay. He had back to back opening round exits at Monte Carlo and Madrid. As a result, many began to question his powers.
Now, considering the fact that he won’t meet either Jannik Sinner or Carlos Alcaraz until the semifinals, he has a chance to elevate his game before going toe-to-toe with those modern greats. Djokovic is a three-time Roland Garros champion, with titles in 2016, 2021 and 2023.
Novak Djokovic’s 100 titles by surface
24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic has officially completed a century of ATP titles in his career. The Serbian won the Geneva Open on Saturday (24th May) after edging Hubert Hurkacz 5-7, 7-6, 7-6 in a titanic affair.

What’s more fascinating is Djokovic’s career titles by surface. In the 100 titles that the former World No.1 has won, 21 have come on clay. Three of them have been the French Open titles, and 11 have come on the Masters 1000 level. The Olympic Gold medal win at the Paris Olympics last year was the icing on the cake.
Outside of clay, 71 have come on hard courts, including 14 Grand Slam titles at the Australian Open and the US Open, respectively. Eight have come on the grass courts, including seven Wimbledon titles.
