Novak Djokovic enjoying a Grand Slam final but not competing in it is one of the rarest occurrences in tennis. Unfortunately, he finds himself in this position at the French Open after having to withdraw from it prior to his quarterfinal match against Casper Ruud.

He was however still involved in the tournament, as he enjoyed watching the final between Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev, with his kids at home. He shared a wholesome photo of this activity on his social media and fans were evidently missing the great legend’s presence on the court.

Even some fans of Rafael Nadal felt that Djokovic’s absence in the final was unsettling as it may have marked the beginning of the end for the era of the big three. 

There were also some that were less concerned about the tennis and more interested in how Djokovic was a family guy, spending time with his kids after his knee surgery. 

A large portion of the comments were Djokovic well-wishers praying for their idol’s speedy recovery as two very important tournaments, Wimbledon and The Olympics, are just around the corner.

Rafael Nadal ecstatic after Carlos Alcaraz wins first French Open title

Spain has been dominating the French Open for almost three decades and Rafael Nadal has been their front-runner, winning 14 titles. It seems he has passed on the torch to the young sensation, Carlos Alcaraz, who broke multiple records today with his win over Alexander Zverev in the final of this year’s French Open.

Rafa seemed excited about his compatriot’s triumph as he shared multiple positive messages congratulating the youngster. “Congratulations CHAMPION,” he posted on Instagram.

In the first round of the tournament, Zverev had defeated Nadal to become only the third player ever to do that in Roland Garros. After two weeks, the tournament came full circle as Carlos Alcaraz avenged his idol by defeating Zverev.
