NASCAR’s two-time Cup Series champion Kyle Busch has honed a great racing talent in his son, Brexton Busch. The ten-year-old has started on the right foot and is achieving success in junior racing categories. Busch Jr. recently won the INEX Bondolero Championships this year and is now looking ahead to winning many more in the coming seasons. Now, the son has also defeated his father in his Winged Outlaw Debut.

Kyle Busch started racing in midget and sprint cars just to race against his son, Brexton Busch. Though Busch Jr. hadn’t defeated his father head-to-head yet, he achieved his first victory during his Winged Outlaw debut. The youngster revealed after the culmination of the battle that he did not win against his father in the way he wanted.

During the Winged Outlaw race, Kyle Busch suffered from a mechanical issue and had to call it quits early. As such, Brexton Busch accepted that his first victory against his father did not come in the way he had hoped for. The father-son duo were fighting for the fifth position while Busch Sr. suffered from a mechanical issue.

Regardless, Brexton Busch insisted that his Winged Outlaw debut went pretty well apart from the minor hitches along the way. The ten-year-old finished in second in both the Heat and Hot Laps over the session.

Moreover, in the A-main division, he finished in P6, which is certainly a great finish for a driver of Brexton’s age and experience. Busch Jr. is definitely shaping up to be a great racer and a person overall, and his father has to be credited massively for this.

I beat my dad, but I didn’t earn it the way I wanted to! We were battling hard for 5th when he had a mechanical problem, Overall my Winged Outlaw debut went pretty good, 2nd in Hot Laps, 2nd in my Heat, and 6th in the A-Main!

Brexton Busch aiming to race against Kyle Busch in the Snowball Derby

The father-son duo will go head-to-head once again at the 2026 Tulsa Shootout in the coming months. As such, when Brexton Busch gets of age, he will surely keep racing against Kyle Busch if the latter is still in the game. For now, Busch Sr. participated in the 2025 Snowball Derby but fell short when fighting for the race win. Regardless, Busch Jr. is already looking forward to fighting against his dad in the Derby soon enough.

In a recent post on X, Brexton Busch responded to the video of Kyle Busch talking about his shortcomings in the Snowball Derby. Busch Jr. pointed out that he had to wait just two more years before he could officially fight against his father. The ten-year-old is looking forward to his first shot at the Snowflake battle, and more importantly, against his own father.

Two years and I’ll get my first shot at the Snowflake

Brexton Busch is certainly among the very few young drivers who are definitely going to excel in the senior racing categories. It will take some years for Busch Jr. to make his NASCAR debut, but he will definitely be a dominant force from his debut season. For now, Junior will enjoy the off-season with his father before both of them have to return to the track and racing cars in their respective categories.
