On Saturday in Arlington, Texas, the highly-awaited college football finale of the 2024 Dr Pepper Big 12 Championship descended at the AT&T Stadium. Before the 12 noon kickoff on ABC, the Big 12 conference on Instagram posted a reel featuring OG Bloodline members Jey Uso and Sami Zayn, who were in attendance. The Big 12’s X account dubbed the two as “certified football guys” when they posed for the camera.
And, as it went down, the 23rd edition of this championship was a lopsided affair between the Arizona State Sun Devils and the Iowa State Cyclones. The state of Arizona didn’t allow their Iowa counterparts to keep pace with themselves as the Kenny Dillingham-coached team trounced Matt Campbell‘s boys by a staggering margin of 45-19.
Afterwards, Zayn and Uso bestowed the custom-made WWE x Big 12 championship belt on Arizona State’s running back, Cameron Skattebo. After that, recently returned Drew McIntyre took a dig at the OG Bloodline members.
The Scot, oozing vitriol, particularly for Sami, wondered, Isn’t he too old to be some Make-A-Wish kid? For the unversed, this past Monday on Raw, McIntyre took Zayn out with a Claymore kick after The Honorary Uce’s loss to Seth Rollins. Although Drew’s real intention behind this is yet to be unearthed, it’s believed that he’d be going after those who recently teamed up with CM Punk.
Zayn and Jey were on the same team as Punk at last Saturday’s WarGames match at Survivor Series. It still hasn’t sunk in what Drew and Punk did to each other inside Hell in a Cell at Bad Blood. In what was hailed as a bloodbath of epic proportions, they kept mugging each other for over half an hour.
How the OG Bloodline fared at Survivor Series: Wargames?
This year’s Survivor Series was headlined by the two versions of The Bloodline. Leading The Usos, Sami Zayn, and CM Punk, was Roman Reigns. They were the OGs. Their antagonists were spearheaded by Solo Sikoa. Others included the Tongans, Jacob Fatu, and “Big” Bronson Reed.
Arguably, this Wargames match stole the night, with the IC title triple threat right up there as well. Reigns eventually pinned Sikoa to walk his side into ecstasy. In hindsight, Reigns, Punk, Zayn, and Jey were fortunate enough to have not picked up an injury.
Jimmy, take for instance, broke his toe. Tonga Loa suffered a torn bicep, and Reed’s crash landing off the top of the cage on the mat left him with a broken foot. All three of them will be out of action indefinitely.
