If it were just his signature on a recital, the paper would not be worth much. The fact that it was signed just five hours before the estimated time of the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman is what makes it immensely valuable. The sequence of events that followed after that night will forever go down in American history.

Simpson was taken into custody the next morning and just a week later, the infamous Ford Bronco highway chase took place. The trial went on to become a nationally televised event. To this day, it is deemed as the trial of the century owing to the media attention that it garnered and the racial tensions that it spurred. Eventually, Simpson was acquitted of the murder charges in the criminal trial, but a civil trial which later ensued found him guilty and he had to pay $33 million as damages.
