Israel Adesanya cannot seem to win a boxing bet. The UFC star recently put out an Instagram story of his bet on Tyson Fury to beat Oleksandr Usyk. However, Adesanya lost that money because Tyson Fury lost the fight. Here is what happened:

Israel Adesanya is in the betting game and he recently bet on previously undefeated Fury to win him some big money. Adesanya had Fury winning by decision over Oleksandr Usyk. His Instagram story showed his $20,000 bet on Fury which could have potentially yielded him a payout of $57,000. However, luck was not on Adesanya’s side.

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk put on an incredible show. They went the full twelve rounds and ultimately Oleksandr Usyk won via split decision. That meant that Israel Adesanya’s $20,000 went down the drain. However, Adesanya had tagged the platform ‘Stake’ on his Instagram story.

Israel Adesanya has over 8.7 million followers on Instagram. There could have been a potential deal in the background to show the online sports betting platform to his audience which would be worth way more than the $20,000 he just lost. Nonetheless, this is not the first time Adesanya has lost money betting on a fight. Previously he had bet $20,000 on Francis Ngannou to KO Tyson Fury and lost that money too.

Drake lost over $500,000 betting on Tyson Fury to defeat Oleksandr Usyk

Drake’s gambling curse is bad not only for him but also for the fighters he bets on. He recently lost over half a million dollars betting on Tyson Fury to win against Oleksandr Usyk. However, everybody is aware of the famous ‘Drake Curse’ and fans suspect Fury was doomed from the start.

Drake shared the snapshot of his $565,000 bet on now-former WBC champion Tyson Fury. If Fury had won that fight he would have cashed out $1,000,000, almost doubling his money. However, luck was not on Drake’s side that night and neither was it on Tyson Fury’s.

Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk met in Saudi Arabia for the first undisputed heavyweight title fight in 25 years. Everybody was on the edge of their seats as the bell rang for the twelve-round showdown between the two undefeated boxing champions. Their fight went the distance but Usyk knocked down Fury in the night round which was a viral moment of the fight. Ultimately, the decision went to the scorecards and Oleksandr Usyk won via split decision.
