The undisputed clash between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk is set for May 18. Things have been quite heated between the two fighters, and both have attempted to play mind games with each other. Subsequently, Usyk’s mother has now expressed her apprehension towards Fury after he pushed her son during their face-off.

During their faceoff, the Gypsy attempted to intimidate Usyk with his size and locked heads with him. Fury, being the showman he is, pushed his opponent after this, but Usyk was not at all intimidated by this. But cooler heads held, and things didn’t get any worse. Subsequently, the undefeated heavyweight champion told Boxing King Media during a recent interview that his mother is irritated with Fury’s actions.

I said, mum, 'It's just show please relax'. She said, 'listen, say to him, if this man pushes you, I kill him.

The incident did happen quite some time ago since the fight got postponed due to Fury’s injury. As such, Usyk had to explain to his mother that this was all part of the show. However, this was not enough for the champion’s mother, who asked him to send an intimidating message to Fury from her side.

Fury vs. Usyk is set to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the sport since Lennox Lewis in 1999. The undefeated Usyk currently holds the IBF, the IBO, the WBO, and the WBA belts, while Fury has the WBC belt.

Tyson Fury believes he has the size advantage

Fury is known for his size and reach advantage across his boxing career. The heavyweight titan’s height is 6 feet 9 inches, which even caused him to not be allowed to compete as an amateur boxer initially. As such, Fury firmly believes that his size will be the reason why he will be crowned the undisputed heavyweight champion.

While speaking at a press conference on Fury, I reflected on this. Usyk’s height is 6 feet 3 inches, so Fury has a massive advantage in terms of reach and size. Furthermore, since Usyk was a former cruiserweight, he believes that he has the advantage because he is a natural heavyweight.

Fury even justified his claims by bringing up his knowledge about fights in the past. According to Fury, whenever a cruiserweight moves up to the heavyweight division, they always tend to have a disadvantage. Hence, Tyson Fury believes that history will repeat itself during his fight with Usyk.
