Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk was truly an exciting fight for boxing fans and for the history of the sport. The fight went the distance and ended with Usyk winning via split decision. After winning the undisputed heavyweight championship, Usyk was delayed at his post-match press conference. This was because doctors had to examine him for injuries sustained in the match.
He mentioned this while discussing the fight and the rematch that will take place. As such, The Gypsy King remarked that both of them would go back to their families and will recuperate for now. Furthermore, he mentioned how both of them are busted up since they kept punching for 12 rounds. Fury also stated that Usyk was at the hospital at the time due to a broken jaw. Subsequently, Usyk’s promoter dismissed this notion while speaking to the media.

As such, the promoter revealed that he just visited the doctor for a normal checkup and that this is something that Oleksandr Usyk does after every fight. Furthermore, the Ukrainian boxer did not want to go to the hospital right away and wanted to attend the post-fight press conference.
In addition, Usyk’s promoter revealed that he went to the hospital to get an MRI scan done. He also stated that he did not know about any injuries that the boxer sustained until the scan results came back. However, he confirmed that Usyk did not break his jaw during the fight.

Usyk could not attend the press conference when he wanted to, but after getting checked up, he came straight back to the arena. This was when the Ukrainian spoke about the fight and how he was feeling. Furthermore, he expressed what it meant to become the undisputed heavyweight champion after defeating Tyson Fury.

Subsequently, Usyk also spoke about his father and had an emotional moment while remembering him. He stated that he last saw him in a dream and stated how much he missed him. The undisputed champion also broke down into tears while discussing this.
In addition, Usyk believes that his father is still here with him, even though he passed away. After this, the Ukrainian reflected on how he could not spend the holidays with his family or his daughter’s birthday because of his training camp.
