The disagreement commenced after Keith Olbermann replied to Riley Gaines’ post on social media. According to Olbermann, Gaines’ ought to confess that she is inferior to Lia Thomas, a transgender swimmer who achieved victory in Division I in the year 2022. “Ah, now I comprehend the reason behind your dismissal from ESPN,” Gaines remarked, restating his understanding. Gaines was accompanied by Paula Scanlan when the locker room incident took place, back in 2022.

According to Scanlan’s article in The Telegraph, the #MeToo movement has merged with other groups advocating for women’s rights and joined the Democratic Party. Scanlan claimed that being compelled to undress in front of Thomas made her relive the excruciating experience of her sexual assault. However, it seems that groups focused on women’s rights have forgotten about instances of sexual assault against transgender women.
