Tokyo Olympics: Musa Evloev from Russia scoops Gold Medal in the men’s 97 Kg Greco Roman Wrestling

The wrestling action continued on the 11th day of the Tokyo Olympics 2020 and the fights of 97 Kg in the Greco Roman category took place at Makuhari Messe Hall and the two times World Champion of Russia, Musa Evloev bagged Gold Medal in this weight category.
Evloev is the winner of the 2018 and 2019 World Championship and he was the hot favorite to win a medal in this weight category. Musa Evloev started his campaign by defeating the Georgian fighter, Giorgi Melia by 3-1 after having a really tough fight.
Then he moved to ¼ finals to face the opponent, Alex Szoke from Hungary. Szoke was much taller than him in height but he defeated him and displayed a dominating performance and won the fight by 6-2.
In the semi-finals, Evloev faced Tadeusz Michalik from Poland and defeated him by 7-1 to enter the finals. Musa Evloev entered the finals against Artur Aleksanyan from Armenia, Aleksanyan presented tried very hard by in the end Evloev won by 5-1 and added one more Gold Medal to Russia’s medal tally.
Artur Aleksanyan fell short in front of Musa Evloev and won Silver Medal for Armenia

The Armenian wrestler, Artur Aleksanyana also displayed a dominating performance in the 97 Kg Greco Roman Wrestling. He entered the semi-finals by defeating Arvi Savolainen from Finland by 5-1.
He entered the semi-finals and defeated Mohammadhadi Saravi from Iran by 4-1 to face Musa Evloev in the finals. Although, he fell short in front of Evloev but he won the second Silver Medal for Armenia at the Tokyo Olympics.
Mohammadhadi Saravi and Tadeusz Michalik secured Bronze Medals in the 97 Kg Greco Roman Category

The Irani fighter, Mohammadhadi Saravi defeated Arvi Savolainen from Finland in the fight for Bronze Medal by a score of 9-2 and won Bronze Medal for Iran.

Tadeusz Michalik from Poland also secured a Bronze Medal for his country by displaying a dominating performance against Alex Szoke from Hungary and defeating him by 10-0.
