Six months after the highly publicized breakup of Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn, she appeared in an interview with CNN’s Alpine Edge, revealing some excruciating details about her relationship. During the interview, Vonn admits, “I mean, I loved him, and I still love him. I had an amazing three years with him.”
She does admit that everything did not go as planned for their remarkable relationship. Vonn adds, “Sometimes things just don’t work out and unfortunately it didn’t work out for us. But I don’t have any regrets and I think we’re both in a pretty good place.”
Following this breakup, Lindsey Vonn chose to focus more on her career. The now-retired Olympic ski racer had several jolts in her career due to injuries. While she had to miss several important tournaments, she has a record of eight downhill World Championships, making her one of the game’s legends. She says about her career, “I’ve realized that I only have three good years of racing left. So it’s kind of nice to be able to focus on that and my career. I’m probably the least confident person on the slopes that you’ll find, especially this time of year. I’m trying to bulk up quite a bit. I definitely feel out of place sometimes on the red carpet.”
Lindsey Vonn has admitted that the heavy media scrutiny and publicization of her relationship was one of the major reasons for the strain between her and Tiger Woods. The increasing and tantamounting pressure of living two lives as athletes had taken the best of the two. Both of them continued to remain friends post their breakup.
