Nur Tatar is one of the most renowned names in the Taekwondo world who represents Turkey at the international level. She is a two-times Olympic Games medalist and one time World Championship Gold Medalist.

Nur Tatar was born on 16th August 1992 in Van, Turkey. Her father’s name is Nizamettin Tatar and her mother’s name is Birgul Tatar. She started her Taekwondo journey from an early age in the Featherweight division and currently she competes in the Welterweight division.
Formerly she was a member of TSE Sports Club in Ankara but later on Tatar was transferred to Ankara İller Bankas. She won her first international medal at the young age of 15 years and now she’ll look forward to adding only missing thing in her perfect bio, i.e. an Olympic Gold Medal.
Nur Tatar Career Achievements
Tatar has always been one of the most dominating entities in the -67 Kg category of Taekwondo. She won her first international medal in the 2010 St. Petersburg European Championship that was a Silver Medal.
After that, she won Gold Medal in the Manchester European Championship and qualified for the London Olympics. Tatar shined brightest at the greatest stage of all and won Silver Medal at the 2012 London Olympics.
She didn’t even stop here; following this she won two more medals at the European Championship and Three Medals in the Grand Prix. Tatar again represented Turkey at the Rio Olympics and won Bronze Medal in the Games.
In the year 2017, she reached the ultimate pinnacle of the sport by becoming the world champion and she won Silver Medal as well in the 2019 World Championship. Now, her only aim is to win the Olympic Gold Medal for her country in Tokyo.
