At ONE Fight Night 16, the stage is set for Jonathan Haggerty to step back into the spotlight. The spotlight comes with an enormous opportunity. He will not just seek to add another accolade to his already impressive resume. Haggerty can make history as a multi-sport world champion. This feat alone would be remarkable, but what makes it even more intriguing is the prospect of Haggerty’s 2023 campaign.
The upcoming year holds the promise of being truly spectacular for this British fighter. If all the stars align, his journey could turn 2023 into one of the most memorable and extraordinary years in the promotion’s history. The anticipation is building, and the potential for greatness looms large as Haggerty steps into the ring. He is ready to write his name in golden letters in the history of combat sports.
In a recent exclusive interview with FirstSportz, the fighter talked about his upcoming fight with Fabricio Andrade. During the conversation, the fighter also mentioned his ambitions to fight the MMA legend Demetrious Johnson in the future. He said:
That would be a dream come true, also fighting Mighty Mouse too. I've grown up watching him with my dad. My dad obviously was a supporter of the fighting sports and yeah, I would love to fight him.Jonathan Haggerty via Firstsportz
Haggerty revealed that he would love to fight DJ, as it’s one of his dreams. The fighter mentioned that he has been watching Johnson since he was a kid with his father. The Brit explained that he is expecting the fight to be a hybrid one where he will be able to express himself and compete properly.
Jonathan Haggerty came to Thailand weeks before his mega-fight in order to acclimatize
Jonathan Haggerty, the current ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion, is well aware of the importance of his upcoming bout and has prepared accordingly. The 26-year-old English sensation has been involved in several high-profile fights in recent years, consistently stepping into the ring in excellent physical condition.

In his next outing at ONE Fight Night 16: Haggerty vs. Andrade on Prime Video, the fighter will go against Brazilian bantamweight MMA world champion “Wonder Boy” Fabricio Andrade. The fight will take place on November 3 inside Thailand’s famous Lumpinee Boxing Stadium.
In a recent interview, Haggerty told ONE Championship that his crew, which included chief sparring partner Liam Nolan, had taken an early flight to Thailand in order to get used to the intense heat of Thailand.
Andrade fights from Phuket resort town and, understandably, has the edge having spent the last few years living and training in Thailand. Haggerty is accustomed to the temperatures of the United Kingdom, so a move like this will definitely help him ahead of the fight.
