One Dangal: Arjan Bhullar defeats Brandon Vera and becomes the first Indian MMA World Champion

The Indian Heavyweight MMA fighter Arjan Bhullar created history in the Main Event of One Dangal. Bhullar entered the ring to challenge the champion, Brandon Vera, for his World Championship title and in the very second round of the fight he knocked him out.

With this win, he became the first Indian MMA world champion. Brandon Vera was the fan’s favorite in this fight and Arjan Bhullar entered this fight as an underdog at One Dangal. But from the starting of the fight, Bhullar kept high pressure on Vera.

He started the first round very swiftly; Vera was stiff on his feet and was not moving nicely. Vera tried to clips Arjan with some heavy shots but he dodged them perfectly. He used his wrestling and scored a takedown in the first attempt.

With this, he stayed heavy on him and landed some shots while being on his back. This was the first time Vera’s fight got past one round in One Championship and he seemed to have gassed out as the round ended.

In the second round of the fight, Bhullar landed some heavy shots and wobbled Vera with a straight right hand. With that shot, he continued keeping the pressure high on him and while Vera was standing against the cage Bhullar landed a knee to the body.

After this, he again came in dominant position while being on the back and Bhullar launched a fury of punches on Vera. After taking some heavy shots by Vera, the referee stepped in and stopped the fight.

With this win, Arjan Bhullar becomes the first Indian MMA world champion and the new One Championship Heavyweight Champion.

Arjan Bhullar dreamed of becoming the world championship since he started training. Before the One Championship, he was a part of UFC and after that, he joined the One Championship and following his first win he got the title shot and now he completed his dream.

In the post-fight interview, Arjan Bhullar says, “India is now on the MMA world map now and this is the emergence of Indian MMA. I’m very happy with this victory and this is a special feeling by becoming the first Indian world champion”.
