Superlek Kiatmuu9 left Takeru Segawa limping with a torn thigh during a ONE Championship event in Tokyo. The Japanese kickboxer was clearly hurt but continued to fight. Kiatmuu9 retained his ONE flyweight kickboxing world title. Meanwhile, the Thai fighter damaged Takeru’s lead leg so badly that he was limping around the ring at the end of the fight. Takeru later posted a picture of his purple-colored thigh on social media, revealing he had a torn thigh.
Superlek Kiatmuu9 is a Muay Thai fighter and the current ONE champion. He is also a former two-weight Lumpinee Stadium champion and the former WBC Muay Thai Super Featherweight World champion. Kiatmuu9 has only one loss in his ONE career, which was against Ilias Ennahachi in 2021. Since then, he has been on an eight-fight win streak. Kiatmuu9’s Muay Thai record is 136 wins, 29 losses, and 4 draws.
Takeru Segawa is a Japanese-born kickboxer and ONE Championship fighter. He had an unbeaten seven-year run in a Japanese promotion. Segawa boasts a remarkable kickboxing career with 43 wins and 3 losses, earning him the reputation as one of the top kickboxers. He is motivated to secure the ONE Championship strap, the only major accolade missing from his trophy case. He said he was approaching each fight like it could be his last.
What happened in the fight between Takeru Segawa and Superlek Kiatmoo9
