Alex Pereira and Magomed Ankalaev will share the octagon this Saturday at the T-Mobile Arena, fighting for the light heavyweight title. Ahead of the fight, the Brazilian superstar is the fan favorite, due to his incredible power and massive winning momentum. However, the challenger isn’t afraid of it and believes he can easily survive Pereira’s threat.
The fight between Pereira and Ankalaev has been in the making for a long time. The champ was initially accused of ducking, but now it doesn’t matter. In front of Pereira’s striking, fans are eager to see the Russian’s wrestling. In a recent interview, Ankalaev talked about ‘Poatan’ being a one trick pony.
Alex Pereira has one signature move. He has that left hook. He lures his opponents in. He just catches them and drops them as they rush in.

Ankalaev mentioned that he and his team have noticed this and he’s smart enough to not fall Pereira’s trap. Initially, the challenger had talked about not relying on his wrestling against Pereira. However, he recently made a sneaky remark, which has forced the fans to rethink about the possibilities.

“He thinks we don’t understand that, that we don’t see it. But I’m smart enough, and I have enough experience to win.”

Regardless, Alex Pereira doesn’t seem to be bothered, and remains extremely confident about his ground game. However, his fans would most likely be expecting the signature devastating left hook. It would be interesting to see what’s next for the Brazilian if he can defeat Ankalaev at UFC 313.
Alex Pereira’s potential heavyweight move
Alex Pereira made his UFC debut in the middleweight division in order to chase his old rival Israel Adesanya. He became the champion, and also lost it in the next fight and decided to leave the division. In the light heavyweight division with no extreme weight cut, the fighter is looking unstoppable.

However, it won’t be surprising to see Pereira potentially moving up to the heavyweight division. The UFC superstar has already talked about potentially fighting the champion Jon Jones, but isn’t that competitive about the whole narrative. In a latest interview, Pereira shared and opinions on Jones fighting Tom Aspinall next.
I won’t necessarily be studying the fight, but I’d watch it closely. Obviously, any heavyweight fight is already exciting, and then you put in Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall. I think that’s a very exciting fight, so I’ll be watching closely – but as a fan.
