Orlando Magic spoil Russell Westbrook’s historic night

Russell Westbrook

Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook

Russell Westbrook becomes the 4th player in NBA History to record a triple double with his team in the first 2 games. Westbrook has 15 points, 15 rebounds and 12 assists. There is no doubt that Westbrook is getting along his Wizard teammates beautifully. With Bradley Beal’s performance also going in vain against Orlando Magic. these two are already forming to be a strong pair. It seems like Westbrook made the right move by opting out of Houston Rockets.

Talking about Russell Westbrook and his love for triple-doubles. He averaged a triple-double in three straight seasons from 2016-17 to 2018-19 when he played for the Oklahoma City Thunder. His form had surely dropped going into the Houston Rockets in the previous season. With the obvious fact that Westbrook wasn’t the primary ball handler, with James Harden playing in the same jersey as him. But if Westbrook continues in this form, he is up for the MVP any given day.

Russell Westbrook is a triple-double machine

Talking about the game against Orlando Magic. Markelle FultzNikola Vucevic and bench player Terrence Ross made the difference offensively. Ross in particular was excellent having scored 25 points of the bench. Whereas Vucevic had a resounding 17 rebounds against his name. With no significant help from the Wizards bench, their marquee scorers, Beal, Westbrook and Bryant combined for 73 points.

Having said that as far as the, Wizards are concerned, their all 3 scoring options are delivering. But the rest of the roster aren’t. So, they would need to pull their socks up before it gets late. Given that these are just early days in the competition, Wizards have ample time to make the relevant changes. The Wizards would face Chicago Bulls in two consecutive games, in which they would be surely hoping to convert big and register their first win of the 2020-21 regular season.
