The current CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, Oscar De La Hoya, has often shared animosity against several individuals. The UFC CEO Dana White is one of those who doesn’t have good terms with the Golden Boy boss. De La Hoya and White have a history of publicly trading harsh words. Interestingly, the boxing promoter recently resurfaced a controversial incident involving White to mock and belittle his rival.
Oscar De La Hoya and Dana White are not known to be best of friends. The rift between the standout personalities of their respective field of work doesn’t seem to end anytime soon. Although once both tried to end their heated disputes, it has taken another turn. Recently, he sat down with Shannon Sharpe for an interview session. In that episode, Sharpe questioned the boxing promoter about the UFC CEO.

The incident that De La Hoya referred to happened back on New Year’s Eve of 2022. The incident saw White slap his wife, which eventually went viral. However, the UFC CEO apologized for the incident. Interestingly, that did not stop the MMA community from sharing their reactions to the incident. Even several UFC fighters also slammed Dana White for such a horrendous act.
The UFC boss also revealed that he had a fallout with his children following the incident. Oscar De La Hoya is just another person who dislikes what White did to his wife. The boxing promoter’s decision to take a shot at the UFC boss in one of his life’s most triggering chapters might add fuel to their rift.
Why is there a rift between Oscar De La Hoya and Dana White?
The longstanding feud between De La Hoya and White has been extensively chronicled, spanning several years. Despite their ongoing conflict, both personalities have achieved significant accomplishments in their respective domains. Interestingly, once the head of Golden Boy attempted to venture into the world of MMA. However, the CEO of UFC may have not liked it
De La Hoya did manage to promote the trilogy fight between Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz. Interestingly, even for that, White slammed the Golden Boy boss. White aimed criticism toward an out-of-prime Liddell fighting Ortiz. In a recent interview with Club Shay Shay, Sharpe questioned De La Hoya’s rift against Dana White.
