Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo expressed his wish to own several football clubs in the future as he contemplates retirement after celebrating his 40th birthday. Ronaldo, however, seems to be enjoying his playing days and is currently plying his trade at Al-Nassr.
Cristiano Ronaldo turned 40 and is still looking strong, despite his receding age. The ex-Real Madrid forward is still breaking records with both club and country and most recently became the first footballer to score more than 900 senior career goals. When talking about his future, Ronaldo has shown no interest in taking up a managerial role like some of his peers but has highlighted his distinct ambitions.
Speaking to TV channel Canal 11, the 40-year-old veteran forward revealed that he instead wants to own a network of clubs all around the world. He added that it would make sense for him thereafter to become the sporting director or the CEO of any particular club. Moreover, the ex-Manchester United star had previously claimed to improve things at Old Trafford had he been the owner of the club.
If I can be a club owner, why would I be a manager, sporting director or CEO? This is my dream and I’m sure I’ll get there. I’ll even say more, I hope to not only have one club but to own several clubs.

Nonetheless, becoming a football club owner would not be such a daunting task for Ronaldo. The Portuguese star has assets worth £285 million, making him one of the richest athletes of all time. He was reportedly offered a five percent stake in Saudi PL side Al-Nassr as a part of a £154 million contract extension at the club, similar to the one offered to ex-PSG forward Kylian Mbappe.

Ronaldo’s ownership ambitions could see him emulate former England international David Beckham, who owns MLS side Inter Miami. It remains to be seen what lies ahead for the 40-year-old forward, who has scored 81 goals in 89 appearances for Al-Nassr.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s 40th birthday gets unique world-record Times Square celebration
23 years as a professional footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo celebrated his 40th birthday in an epic manner, scoring twice for Al-Nassr in a match against Al-Wasl. Moreover, fans at New York’s iconic Times Square celebrated the veteran Portuguese star’s birthday in an impressive way.

Ronaldo fans gathered at New York’s Times Square on Wednesday to mark the occasion of their favorite superstar’s birthday. Attempting to break a world record, fans came together and performed the ex-Real Madrid forward’s iconic ‘Siu’ celebration. It has been a part of CR7’s iconic persona. However, the now 40-year-old was not in attendance at Times Square, busy preparing for Al-Nassr’s upcoming matches. The Saudi PL side next faces Al-Fayha, followed by a crucial league encounter against fifth-placed Al-Ahli.
