Matt LaFleur lost his cool after one of his Green Bay Packers defenders made a bad mistake. It resulted in a loss of possession for the Packers.

Green Bay tried to go no-huddle on fourth and third in the first quarter to trick the Washington Commanders’ bench. However, defensive end Kingsley Enagbare did not receive the cue. He accidentally stepped onto the field while his team lined up to kick a field goal.

The referee noticed the mistake and stopped the play. This allowed the Commanders to sub in a player. The Packers eventually turned the ball over on downs after quarterback Jordan Love failed to connect with rookie receiver Matthew Golden.

Amazon Prime cameras caught Matt LaFleur being furious with the 25-year-old Enagbare. The fourth-year defender wasn’t the only one who was screamed at. LaFleur also shouted at the referee for preventing his team from snapping the ball quickly.

Enagbare, a fifth-round pick out of South Carolina, started seven games last year. He has played 53 total games since debuting in 2022, racking up 112 total tackles and 9.5 sacks.

Matt LaFleur shares concerning news on Jayden Reed

The Packers carved out an impressive victory, but it came at a costly price. Jayden Reed left the game early on after hurting his shoulder on a fall inside the end zone.

Unfortunately for the Packers, Reed will miss several games because of his injury. Matt LaFleur said after the game:

He’s going to miss a lot of time, unfortunately. He broke his collarbone. He’ll be down for quite some time. We’ll see how fast he can recover and heal. Certainly, I would expect him back at some point this season.

It’s a heartbreaking turn of events for Reed, who recently battled a foot injury. LaFleur added:

Obviously, it’s a big blow for us. He’s a guy that’s a catalyst for our offense and our football team, quite frankly. The energy he brings. He’s a dawg. He comes out there, and he’s gonna compete. He plays tough, physical, and he’s a playmaker.

Reed may be sidelined, but Love still has capable receivers to throw the ball at. Dontayvion Wicks caught 4 passes for 44 yards, and Romeo Doubs went 3 for 28 and one score against the Commanders.

This presents rookie Matthew Golden with the opportunity to log some valuable snaps and may even score a couple of TDs. The Packers drafted Golden 23rd overall in 2025. Golden had 1900+ yards and 22 touchdowns for Texas during his three seasons with the college program.

LaFleur has a great shot at lifting the Lombardi Trophy this season. They sat at +2000 in the offseason, which changed drastically after the Micah Parsons trade. They currently have +900 odds to win the Super Bowl in San Francisco.

The Packers sent defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two first-round picks to acquire Parsons. He shook off an early injury scare to play meaningful snaps in both games, racking up 1.5 sacks and two assisted tackles.

LaFluer and Co. are on the road in week three. They are scheduled to face off against the Cleveland Browns, who suffered a narrow defeat in their first game. Wide receiver Jerry Jeudy’s carelessness cost the AFC North side a win.
