Packers wanting Eagles’ famous ‘tush push’ banned has football fans losing their mind – “Softest franchise in the NFL”
Teams have tried to coax the NFL into banning the 'tush push' after the Philadelphia Eagles used it to perfection.

The Philadelphia Eagles romped away to win Super Bowl LIX after dominating the Kansas City Chiefs in every facet of the big game. Their domination was such that they did not have to resort to their famous ‘tush push’ play other than to score one touchdown.
That touchdown was in the first quarter, hence it did not come to the attention of others. But soon, there were talks about banning the play. CBS’ Jim Nantz said a few days later that the play is too ‘automatic’. In his eyes, the ‘tush push’ did not look like a football play.
His opinion was based on what he has seen develop over the past two years, as teams found it difficult to stop the play. At the same time, others have tried to replicate it and failed. A while ago, news broke at the NFL Combine that one unnamed team in particular wants the play banned.
The Athletic’s Dianna Russini then revealed that it was the Green Bay Packers who wanted the ‘tush push’ banned. Digging deeper, team CEO Mark Murphy had this reply to a fan in their Q&A session earlier this month.
I am not a fan of this play. There is no skill involved, and it is almost an automatic first down on plays of a yard or less. The play is bad for the game, and we should go back to prohibiting the push of the runner. This would bring back the traditional QB sneak.
Mark Murphy said
The Green Bay Packers are the team that submitted a proposal to the NFL’s competition committee to ban the tush push, per sources.

On paper, Murphy’s logic might be sound as the push from behind makes it easier for the QB to break the plane. However, the NFL has mentioned before that just because a team is good at it does not mean a play should be banned.
Fans troll Packers for wanting tush push banned
That is what fans caught on too. They think the Green Bay Packers believe they could win against the Philadelphia Eagles if the NFL banned the tush push. However, it shows the team is not capable enough to beat them on their own accord.

Therefore, they want the league to give them a helping hand. This effort to get the ‘tush push’ banned has fans terming the team ‘soft’. Check out examples of those fan comments below.

Are the Packers going to try and ban Dallas Goedert from “pushing” their defensive back all the way to the end zone for a touchdown? pic.twitter.com/AecBdX1sYp

Packers should try getting Jordan Love interceptions banned since they cant seem to stop that from happening either

Packers so soft, they’re begging the league to stop getting pushed around by better teams. Loving this new era of Packer “football.”

Green Bay needs to do a better job of stopping the opposition from gaining the first 9 yards. Just saying.

“We can’t stop it OR replicate it so please ban it because they’re too big and strong and good at it.”

Like this is Pop Warner or something.
I'd like to submit all of Saquon Barkley's touchdowns and Jordan Love's interceptions https://t.co/iz8kCQu6mk

Football fans felt as if the Packers are complaining to the school principal to stop another team from bullying them. Fans want them to build a team and find ways to beat their opposition on their own. Instead, they want the principal, or in this case, the NFL’s decision makers, to stop the Eagles from being this good.
The Green Bay Packers have a lot of roster issues to fix before they can beat the Eagles. They came close last season, but close might not be good enough against a dominating team such as the Eagles. Jordan Love and his team need to step it up a notch.
