Paddy Pimblett has carved out a reputation as one of the UFC’s most entertaining personalities, combining undefeated success inside the Octagon with a larger-than-life presence outside it. Known for his crowd-pleasing performances and unapologetic confidence, Pimblett rarely shies away from controversy, often finding himself embroiled in verbal feuds with fellow fighters.
And his latest target is outspoken welterweight veteran Colby Covington. The Liverpool native is currently slated to compete for the interim lightweight championship against Justin Gaethje at UFC 324, a high-stakes clash that has already generated significant buzz.
As fight night approaches, Pimblett has remained highly visible on the media circuit, using interviews to keep fans invested in the matchup. During a recent interaction on his YouTube channel, ‘The Baddy’ addressed the topic of trash talk in the UFC, taking particular aim at the former interim 170lbs king.
Pimblett shared his thoughts on fighters who rely heavily on verbal antics, making it clear that he has little respect for Covington’s approach and persona.
Most people talk s*** in front of the camera. The worst and biggest prime example is Colby Covington. No one likes Colby Covington. He’s a proper bad helmet. Everyone I’ve spoken to says, oh he’s so nice behind the scenes. Trump doesn’t even like him. Trump probably likes me more than him. I’ve won more fights in front of President Trump than he’s won.

For the unversed, Covington has openly been a strong supporter of Donald Trump, frequently expressing his political views during interviews and public appearances. He has also claimed to support Trump during election campaigns, attending events and publicly backing him through media interactions.
Moreover, the POTUS has been known to attend many Octagon events, including UFC 244, where Covington faced Robbie Lawler and secured a dominant unanimous decision victory.

Trump was also present at UFC 272, when Covington defeated Jorge Masvidal by unanimous decision in their heated rivalry. However, at UFC 296, Covington lost the title bout to Leon Edwards in front of Trump and, since then, hasn’t bounced back.
Nevertheless, the Clovis native has adopted a heel persona to save his UFC career, though many believe he frequently blurs the lines with trash talk. Pimblett, on the other hand, has often backed his trash-talking with performances and has diminished several veterans, including Michael Chandler at UFC 314.
The Englishman now wants to do the same against Gaethje when they headline the first PPV card of the Paramount era in the form of UFC 324. On top of that, the Liverpudlian has several other plans lined up to continue entertaining global MMA fans.
Paddy Pimblett has plans to be a part of TUF
Throughout the years, The Ultimate Fighter has remained a consistent UFC platform, shaping prospects and fan engagement worldwide. The reality show introduced fighters to audiences, blending competition and personality, while providing a clear pathway toward UFC contracts and careers. Legends like Forrest Griffin, Michael Bisping, Kamaru Usman, and Nate Diaz all rose through TUF exposure and early fame.

In recent memory, Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler coached TUF, creating viral moments that reignited fan interest worldwide across platforms. Given his trash-talking flair and flamboyant personality, Paddy Pimblett believes he is the perfect choice for future coaching duties.
During the same interaction, the lightweight discussed potentially starring as a TUF coach, outlining entertainment value, leadership goals, and competitive vision.
I want to do a season where I’m the coach. I think that would be sick. A while ago, me and Moicano were having a back and forth. I was saying me and him should do The Ultimate Fighter. Moicano is funny and I’m funny, and it’d be a good season, but it just never ended up happening. I’d do one with Ilia, but they’d have to have security there 24/7.

Pimblett has a huge rivalry with Ilia Topuria, but has been supporting the champion, given his personal problems. However, according to the Scouser, ‘El Matador’ needs to vacate the title because of things out of his control, and he couldn’t continue fighting. Recent updates from the Georgian-Spanish have shown similar signs, and it would be interesting to see what happens going forward.
