Bryce Young may not have lived up to the hype generated around him in his rookie year but he is doing his best to take his mind off of it by trying his hand at other things. For instance, he got the first-hand experience of what it feels like to be a member of a NASCAR pit crew.
If there is one thing that fans know about pit crews and their importance, it is that speed and precision are of the utmost importance. In the midst of a race, a pit crew is trusted to change the tires of a car within seconds to ensure that the driver does not lose precious time.
Bryce Young took some time off from organized team activities to take a trip to the Hendrick Motorsports and Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord. The quarterback had the opportunity to take a first-hand look at the best cars of the team and met Hall of Famer Jeff Gordon, the Vice President of Hendrick Motorsports, from whom they got a tour of the entire place.

Bryce Young fared well in his first gig at a pit crew
The quarterback was given the responsibility to carry the tires and hand them to the crew to replace the ones on the car. He was quick in rushing with the tires and assisting the pit crew in fixing them onto the car before they were firmly fitted into place. Following this, the Panthers visited the NASCAR Racing Experience in Charlotte.
The team witnessed a Car of Tomorrow-era stock car which featured a one-of-one car painted in Panthers colors with the number 51 to pay homage to Sam Mills, one of the greatest players to play football in Carolina and a Pro Football Hall of Fame linebacker. It was not just Young who was present there, Dave Canales accompanied him and honored Jeff Gordon with his own custom Panthers jersey.

Although Carolina does not have a successful football team, the greater Charlotte area serves as the backbone of the NASCAR industry. It serves as the base of operations for the industry and unsurprisingly, many reputed NASCAR drivers such as the likes of William Byron, the Daytona 500 champion, are supportive of the Panthers franchise. It will be a crucial year for Bryce Young and Dave Canales as they hope to bring back long-lost glory to the franchise.
