“It is difficult to bowl well in India” – Pat Cummins speaks on his IPL experiences

Pat Cummins
Pat Cummins went for the highest bid at the auctions for the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) when he was picked up by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) franchise for a sum of Rs. 15.5 crores. Despite the high price tag, the Aussie pacer was not able to come up with the performances that he is usually associated with. After a period of initial struggle, he finished the tournament in a better fashion, finishing with 12 wickets in 14 matches.
Cummins was handy with the bat on more than one occasion and overall, it was not a bad season for the fast bowler. However, there was much more expected of him and the franchise would ideally have wanted him to carry them to the playoffs which they narrowly missed out on. Now, with the 2021 edition of the tournament looming, Cummins has spoken about his past IPL experiences.
‘I have amazing memories’ – Pat Cummins

Pat Cummins spoke to the Kolkata Knight Riders website about his IPL experiences and said, “I have amazing memories. My first experience of playing with players outside Australia, my first taste of the IPL. I watched quite a bit of it on TV and yeah I loved it. It’s hard bowling here in India or in the UAE. The wickets are different to the ones in Australia, the grounds are smaller.“
“”It’s hard bowling here in India or in the UAE. The wickets are different to the ones in Australia, the grounds are smaller. So, you got to learn and find different ways. We have had some amazing people around the team to learn from. I got the whole couple of months to spend with Jacques Kallis. Loved that experience, made me hungry for more,” he added.
Kolkata Knight Riders will kick off their IPL campaign against Sunrisers Hyderabad on the 11th of April.
