Patrick Mahomes has achieved immense success in just seven years of playing in the NFL. He has won 3 Super Bowls and is now in pursuit of achieving the impossible by embarking on a run to win his third consecutive ring. He is very well on the track to match, or eclipse Tom Brady in terms of finals appearances and rings.

The one question that remains on the minds of Kansas City Chiefs fans is, ‘How long will Patrick Mahomes continue to play?’ His longevity will play a pivotal role in determining if he can overtake the GOAT. The quarterback is unlikely to play into his early 40s. His mother Randi Mahomes has revealed the reason for the same.

Randi Mahomes, the mother of the quarterback spoke about his future on The Mom Game Podcast.

I hear him, you know, make comments like, 'If the game takes away from my kids, I might not play as long as Tom Brady' and I'm like I'm so proud of him for that.
Randi Mahomes said

The star quarterback, while a competitive man himself, is not willing to sacrifice family time and wants to remain involved in the teen years of his kids, Sterling Skye, aged three, and Patrick Lavon Mahomes III, aged one.

Patrick Mahomes would not hesitate to pick fatherhood over football in the future

Despite excelling at football, Randi Mahomes went on to reveal that the sport happened to be one of the last things that the quarterback likes. He was an elite baseball pitcher as well, if not for football, he would have become a star in the MLB. However, fate had its plans for him and football was the path that he ultimately chose.

It has not turned out to be a bad choice after all. Despite Patrick Mahomes making it clear that he will walk away from the game by the age of 40, he has a lot of time left to eclipse Brady. He is just 28 after all, with over 12 years left to go, he is just four Super Bowls short of matching the GOAT. That may seem a long way ahead, but knowing his talent and capabilities, one cannot count him out of achieving this feat.

Tom Brady gave up a lot in his pursuit to establish himself as the greatest quarterback of all time. While he walked away from football at the age of 45, he returned to an empty home, one without his wife and kids. Mahomes is not willing to risk that and if he has to pick between being there for his children and football, he will choose the former without hesitation.
