Being named one of the ‘100 Most Influential People’ in the World by Time Magazine, there’s always a keen eye on the media and which side Patrick Mahomes would lean toward in the upcoming presidential election. However, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback doesn’t want his choice to sway others decisions to vote for a certain candidate.

Once again, two heavyweights in US politics, Democratic candidate and current POTUS Joe Biden, will take on former President and Republican head Donald Trump, with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. lining up as an independent candidate. An excerpt from Sean Gregory‘s piece on Patrick Mahomes, the 28-year-old, for Time Magazine hinted that he would not publicly endorse anyone.

I don’t want to pressure anyone to vote for a certain president. I want people to use their voice, whoever they believe in, [and] I want them to do the research.

Despite being a three-time Super Bowl winner, Mahomes truly became a household name after Taylor Swift entered the frame. The pop icon started dating his Chiefs teammate Travis Kelce last year, and since then, her name has been very much synonymous with the Reds.

Swift’s association with Biden and her apparent dislike for Trump may compel people to believe that Mahomes may be in favor of the current government. However, a massive hypothesis similar to the conspiracy theory regarding the Chiefs Super Bowl LVIII was rigged by the Biden administration.

Before the 2020 elections, Mahomes joined LeBron JamesMore Than A Vote campaign, but even then, he did not openly endorse anyone. Notably, after winning the second of his three Super Bowls, he and the entire Chiefs team went to the White House to meet President Biden.

Patrick Mahomes explained why he remained silent over the call for gun law following the shooting at the Chiefs Victory Parade

The Kansas City Chiefs won their third Super Bowl in five years. A week later, on February 14th, they hosted a victory parade to share the win with their fans. However, a moment of joy and pride turned into horror and shame.

Shortly after the parade ended, unidentified men started shooting at the crowd, leaving a few injured and one dead. It brought back the bad memories of the Kansas City Massacre on its 90th anniversary.

After the incident, there was a call for a ban on the possession of guns in the state of Missouri. There’s yet to be a final verdict. Mahomes, who is usually a vocal presence on social media, showed solidarity and even visited the wounded in the hospital. However, he never uttered a word about the gun control movement.

I don't want to make a quick response to something that takes a lot of education to really learn and make a swaying comment based on that. But I know we have to find a solution or some way to make this stuff stop.
Mahomes told Gregory

The Chiefs are in a slight bind with second-year wide receiver Rashee Rice behind bars. Apart from that, they have had a solid offseason, re-signing several players and making good use of the free agency.
