Kyle Williams had his moment to shine at Super Bowl LX, not during the live action between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks, but during the halftime break. He passed the test with flying colors.

After Bad Bunny wrapped up his historic halftime show, an energetic fan ran onto the field. It’s better to call him a streaker, but then again, streakers usually go full nude. The man in question kept his pants on, perhaps to preserve his dignity.

Anyways, the Levi’s Stadium security was able to corner him, thanks to a helping hand from Patriots rookie wideout Kyle Williams. After noticing Williams charging toward him, the streaker tried to change direction to avoid a collision, but slipped instead.

Who is Kyle Williams?

Williams, 23, was born in Baltimore, Maryland. He moved to California, where he attended Santa Monica High. At school, he tried his luck at several different positions, including quarterback and defensive back. As a senior, Williams racked up 31 receptions for 763 yards and nine touchdowns.

Several Division 1 teams awarded scholarships to play for them. He eventually settled on the University of Las Vegas. In three seasons for the Vegas program, Williams racked up 1500+ yards and 9 touchdowns before transferring to Washington State in 2023. During his senior season, Williams had 70 receptions for 1198 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Williams was drafted 69th overall in the 2025 NFL draft by the Patriots. He wasn’t viewed as a starter, buried behind seasoned campaigners like Stefon Diggs, Mack Hollins, Kayshon Boutte, and DeMario Douglas.

In Week 10, against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Williams caught his first NFL touchdown off a 72-yard pass from quarterback Drake Maye. The Patriots won the game 28-23. Williams’ rookie regular season finished with 10 receptions on 21 targets for 209 yards and 3 touchdowns. As a return specialist, he racked up 502 yards and 3 TDs.

His game time dropped in the playoffs. In the Super Bowl, Williams only caught one pass for 7 yards in the fourth quarter when the Patriots were trailing by 12 points.

The Patriots went in as the underdogs against the Seahawks, and it showed. Seattle’s defense kept pile-driving Maye to the ground. New England didn’t score a single point until Maye threw a 35-yard touchdown pass to Hollins midway through the final quarter.

Maye added another one in garbage time. He found running back Rhamondre Stevenson for a 7-yard touchdown catch. However, it did little to decide the outcome of the fixture. Seattle won 29-13.

Maye finished with 27 completions from 43 attempts for 295 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions. He was sacked 6 times and lost the ball once. Hollins caught 4 passes for 78 yards and one score.
