Manchester City cruised to a 2-0 win over Newcastle United on Boxing Day in the Premier League. The blues of Manchester are now quietly up to the fifth position in the league table.
They’re only five points off from table leaders Liverpool at this point. Critics and fans both now believe that the Guardialo team is finally in the groove.

Manchester City started off pretty slowly in the season this time around. With a 5-2 loss against Leicester City and draw against Manchester United, many people didn’t consider them in the title race.
However they’re currently on the back of a 6 game unbeaten streak and look threatening to say the least. Fluidity in their football is showing very clearly.
With the new recruits in the defence in Ruben Dias, the defensive unit looks strong as compared to last year.
Pep Guardiola was extremely pleased with his side’s performance against the Magpies. According to him it was the best display he saw from his men this season.
It was the best performance of the season,” he said after the 2-0 victory. “Our football has to be played in one rhythm. We cannot play up and down so quickly. We have to make a tempo and a thousand-million passes in the right moment.
“To do this everyone has to be in his position and everyone has to do his job – today was a big example.”
The guys did really well and I’m so glad,” Guardiola added after the Newcastle win. “We have a victory, we claim some positions and now we need to be calm because it’s non-stop.
