In a wild confrontation between Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola and Liverpool fans, the Spaniard reminded fans of his EPL title records after being taunted by them. It happened toward the end of Man City’s 2-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield.
Manchester City have been enduring their worst-ever run under Pep Guardiola. They have lost six out of their last seven matches in all competitions. Their last victory was a 1-0 win against Southampton, back in October. City’s recent defeat to Liverpool leaves them in 5th position on the EPL table, with just 23 points, 11 points behind the Reds.
The club’s recent slump in form has led many fans and critics to point fingers at Guardiola, who most recently extended his contract until 2027. The 53-year-old manager was faced with newfound criticism from Liverpool fans in the final minutes of their defeat to the Reds. Guardiola was met with chants of ‘You are getting sacked in the morning.’.
The Man City boss immediately responded back to the chants by smiling at the fans. He then took out his hands from his pockets to show six fingers. It was to indicate the number of titles he has won with the club. In the post-match interview, Guardiola revealed that he did not expect such a response from fans.

Leaving aside City’s recent performances, Guardiola has enjoyed a rather successful tenure at the club. Under him, the club attained new heights by winning four Premier League titles in a row. He has also won a UCL title, two FA Cups, four EFL Cups, and a FIFA Club World Cup.

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola had a ‘cold’ response to Liverpool fans, who chanted that he would be sacked, following the club’s 2-0 defeat to the Reds. The Spaniard responded to them by showing six fingers, pointing to the EPL titles he has won in his eight-year stint.
Fans reacted to Guardiola’s response on social media. Some Man City fans mocked Liverpool, pointing to just their one Premier League title win since 1992. Another fan claimed that the Cityzens would never sack the Spaniard. Rivals, however, stated that Pep tried to show how many matches he had lost in a row. One fan hilariously shared a reminder of the club’s 115 charges of financial breach.
Yes with 115 charges. They’ll be relegated and the team will turn into Swansea City and can never come back again in the PL.

Nonetheless, City would be hoping to make a comeback as soon as possible. They face Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace next in back-to-back EPL matches. It will be followed by a tough UCL encounter against Juventus.
