Brooks Koepka is leaving LIV Golf. On Tuesday, the LIV Golf announced the departure of the former World No.1 golfer. The PGA Tour would later issue a cryptic message regarding him.
The 35-year-old was one of the high-profile names who left the PGA Tour and caused a major divide in golf. He and several others joined LIV Golf on huge money deals, leading to major outrage among the golfing community.
After having success in his first three seasons, Koepka struggled with form in 2025. In 13 events on LIV Golf this year, he managed just 2 top-10 finishes. In the final LIV Golf Indianapolis event, he finished 50th in the standings.
He had a tough time in the majors, too. Out of the 4 major championships, he made the cut in only one of them. Following a poor showing in the Masters Tournament and the PGA Championship, he made the cut at the U.S. Open in Oakmont.
While he seemed to be in contention for a while, he eventually finished T12 in his national Open. A month later he ended up missing the cut again, this time at the Open Championship following scores of 75 and 74 in the first two rounds.
Following a challenging season both on and off the fields, Koepka would leave LIV Golf. In a post on X, his league would post a simple “Thank you” message.

LIV Golf and Koepka’s management team cited family as a reason for him leaving the breakaway tour.
Brooks is prioritizing the needs of his family and staying closer to home. We appreciate the significant impact he has had on the game and wish him continued success, both on and off the course.

At the moment, it is unclear whether Brooks Koepka will be permitted to play on the PGA Tour again. He will need to reapply for his membership if he wants to return to the Tour.
He did not reapply for this before the 2022-23 season. On top of that, the tour could take some disciplinary action against him for him leaving them and joining LIV Golf.
