On Saturday night, Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal reignited their rivalry, this time inside the squared circle. Going into the bout, the hype was incredible as fans were eager to see former UFC fighters finishing their long unfinished business. However, what caught the attention of fans was rather unexpected. 

As Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal were getting ready to swing at each other, their introduction banner went viral among the fight fans. Many noticed how Diaz’s body was photoshopped with the one with more definitions than his natural physique. Similarly, Masvidal’s body also looked fake which attracted many questions as well as hilarious comments.

The rivalry between Diaz and Masvidal began with their 2019 matchup for the first-ever UFC BMF title. As opposed to their initial encounter that happened in the Octagon five years ago, fans were excited to see both in boxing shorts. In contrast to the first encounter, this time Diaz got his hands raised as the evening came to a close after a grueling fight.

Diaz’s unrelenting volume punching and aggressive push collided with Masvidal’s devastating counterstrikes. Diaz kept Masvidal backed up against the ropes, hitting multiple light blows, while Masvidal answered with explosive punches from an unexpected southpaw. However, all this was almost overshadowed by the banner mishap which caught the attention of many.

Going into the fight both Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz had a great amount of bad blood. During the pre-fight press conference, their teams even got into a nasty brawl which made headlines. As a result, many fans were expecting a great fight, however, nobody could get the sense of why the promotion chose to photoshop the banners. Here are some of the reactions:

Many users pointed out the obvious edited images and made some hilarious comments. Some even thought the images of Diaz and Masvidal were AI-generated. On the other hand, after the fight, Diaz called out former rival Leon Edwards. Similarly, Masvidal has shown interest in taking on Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather in the future. Nevertheless, it seems like the whole boxing fiasco did benefit both the fighters.
