After more than 40 days of back and forth between the Green Bay Packers and the New York Jets, a suitable trade compensation was set on Aaron Rodgers that made them satisfied with what they were receiving. The Jets received the quarterback along with pick no. 15 and 170 of the 2023 NFL Draft.
The Packers received the Jets’ 13th overall pick along with the 42nd and 207th pick of the 2023 draft. Additionally, Green Bay also received a conditional second-round pick in the 2024 draft that will be upgraded to a first-round if Rodgers plays 65 percent of the plays in 2023.
Green Bay now has a total of 11 picks in this draft, which gives them the much-needed opportunity to build the team around Jordan Love. Let’s have a look at five players the Packers can draft to elevate their offense now that it has an Aaron Rodgers size hole in it.

5. Lukas Van Ness (DE, Iowa)
Iowa defensive end Lukas Van Ness, who was born to Jason and Leanna Van Ness, is touted to be a first-round pick who can play any position on the front line. His presence on the opposite end of the scrimmage line is enough for quarterbacks to be scared because of his speed and elusiveness.
He could fit perfectly in the Packers’ defense, which already has great players like Kenny Clark, Devonte Wyatt, Rashan Gary, and Preston Smith.
4. Jaxon Smith-Njigba (WR, Ohio)
The Packers have the perfect opportunity to add another great receiver like Davante Adams to their roster in Ohio State wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba. The young wideout is said to be the best in the draft class and his production in college speaks volumes about the impact he can have in the NFL.
Green Bay lacks depth in the receiving corps and drafting the Ohio State player would compensate for that lack. Additionally, Jordan Love would benefit greatly from Jaxon Smith-Njigba being on the offense. The two could be the next-best QB-WR duo in the league.
3. Dalton Kincaid (TE, Utah)
Another position where the Packers lack firepower is the tight end position. The team currently employs Josiah Deguara as the tight end and he hasn’t had the kind of impact like that of Travis Kelce or Rob Gronkowski.
With Dalton Kincaid generating a lot of buzz in this year’s draft, Green Bay can add him to the roster. Kincaid can give them the results right off the bat and be a favorite receiver of Jordan Love.
2. Peter Skoronski (OT, NW University)
The Packers can add Peter Skoronski, the grandson of their Hall of Fame offensive tackle Bob Skoronski. Just like his grandfather, Peter also plays as an offensive tackle for the Northwestern Wildcats.
Peter Skoronski surely has the blood and the skills of his grandfather, who won 5x NFL championships and 2x Super Bowls with the Packers during his 11 stints in the league. The younger Skoronski might be used as a guard on the Packers’ offense. But nonetheless, it will be a cause for celebration in the Skoronski household if the Packers draft him on Thursday night.
1. Myles Murphy (DE, Clemson)
Myles Murphy was an absolute beast on the Clemson Tigers and could be the same for the Packers as their new defensive end. He also holds the ability to play on the outside as well as inside on the defensive line.
In his sophomore year in 2021, Murphy recorded seven sacks, 38 tackles, and two forced fumbles, and 6.5 sacks, 40 tackles, and one forced fumble in 2022.
