With just 10 games remaining in the 2026 WNBA regular season, the Indiana Fever Big 3 of Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell, and Aliyah Boston are playing at an elite level to ensure that they get the best possible seeding heading into the playoffs.
They are technically still half a game behind the Atlanta Dream, which means that the Indianapolis-based team cannot lose any more ground if they want to clinch home-court advantage.
The remaining games on their schedule are not going to make that task easy, which is why the trio needs to be on their toes at all times and call on the bench to produce when needed.
The Fever’s offense is dictated by how Clark runs the show, which is why her name has been thrown into the MVP race. However, some believe that Mitchell should be the MVP, given that her offense has consistently surpassed that of the superstar point guard and others in the league.
He doesn’t defend Caitlin Clark. He uses her. He pays the bills by poisoning the reputation and accomplishments of people like Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell- anybody on that roster who won’t kneel to his CC throne. Here’s the part he can’t afford to admit, Mitchell is the MVP of the Fever this season.

Saying Kelsey Mitchell is the MVP over Caitlin Clark is not a diss…

The analyst believes that this podcaster, whose account goes by the name of VENOM, is the actual snake trying to poison fans into hating on Aliyah Boston. Jason Whitlock reiterated that the center was right to say that Kelsey Mitchell is the team MVP this season, just because of her on-court performance.
Jason Whitlock exposes VENOM’s method of creating a feud within the Fever
The 59-year-old went on to detail how phenomenal Kelsey Mitchell has been this season, and why she is rightfully ahead of Caitlin Clark in the MVP race. Then, Jason Whitlock detailed how the likes of VENOM use division to create a discourse.
VENOM is a type, and that type makes talking about the Indiana Fever objectively difficult. Boston can’t speak. Fever fans can’t speak. Teammates can’t be praised without somebody accusing them of hating on Caitlin Clark… They treat every box score into a loyalty test.

The Indianapolis native added that VENOM and other like-minded ‘delusional’ fans create such narratives so that they can keep the interest in their podcasts from fading. Even though they claim to be fans, Whitlock believes that their impact is no different than others who deliberately want to tear the Fever players down.
Whitlock warned that such fans are the reason why the WNBA is facing this much scrutiny, as every other day they are pitting players and coaches against each other, which takes away from the game.
The former ESPN reporter questioned why it was a ‘crime’ to uplift other women, even when they have clearly showcased how much better they have been playing than Caitlin Clark.
Jason Whitlock explains why Caitlin Clark is not in this year’s MVP race
After detailing how creating this discourse benefits the likes of VENOM, Jason Whitlock then went on to explain why Caitlin Clark is not going to be in the mix for this year’s regular season MVP award.

Caitlin Clark is awesome… She is not the MVP of this Fever team, not this season… Clark missed four games. Through the first 10 to 12 games, she was inefficient. She struggles against the best teams in the W… She’s played through minutes restrictions… Not this year’s MVP. Greatness is not a permanent permission slip to erase the women next to you.

The journalist reiterated that Caitlin Clark still needs to elevate her game if she is to be in the MVP conversation. That is not going to happen this year. But just because the three-time All-Star is not in the running does not mean that others should be diminished. Clark’s time will come. But until then, true fans should be praising the entire team.
