The Rock's no-show at Survivor Series engendered restlessness within some circles on social media. Here's a plausible reason for his absence.

Unlike stealing the march from the main event at Bad Blood, The Rock didn’t follow it up with an appearance at last night’s Survivor Series: WarGames PLE. Before the show, there were a bunch of fans on social media manifesting for The Final Boss’ WWE return in Vancouver. However, that couldn’t happen technically because the Black Adam star wasn’t even in Canada on Saturday.

In fact, as posted on his Instagram, the 52-year-old actor was in Hawaii, where he stopped by Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. The Rock had a quality time over there meeting the families of the veterans. Moreover, The Great One did an exclusive screening of his animated musical adventure film, Moana 2, for the military families on the base. As he stated, that place will always have a special place in his heart.

Dwayne Johnson grew up in Oahu and lived there till he was 14. Despite being evicted from the Hawaiian Islands as a teenager, Johnson has continued to proudly represent his Polynesian culture no matter what. Moana 2 is an ode to his people and their beliefs. Speaking of the movie, it was released this past Wednesday locally.

For what it’s worth, the Walt Disney Animation Studios creation has roped in $140 million without even accounting for the weekend grosses. After a recent setback for his Red One movie, the Moana 2 high is exactly what Dwayne and Co. have been looking for.

The holiday season crowd-pleaser Red One is on the brink of clocking the $70 million number in the US and Canada. Across the globe, the movie has earned $133.2 million, which is still way off its reported budget of $250 million.

What headlined Survivor Series: WarGames this year?

The main event at Survivor Series witnessed a WarGames match between the OG Bloodline and the new Bloodline. Roman Reigns, CM Punk, Jimmy and Jey Uso, and Sami Zayn took out Solo Sikoa, the Tongans, Jacob Fatu, and “Big” Bronson Reed.

For most of the fans, that 5-on-5 melee was a prohibitive success. However, the only pet peeve was that The Rock was nowhere to be found. It’s almost like WWE teased him for the PLE, and they didn’t deliver on that promise.

But that wasn’t the case. There’s no real indication that The Brahma Bull will be back before 2025. The safest bet one can place on his return is the Netflix premiere of Raw on January 6. He’s on track to compete at WrestleMania 41 with plans yet to be finalized.
